No More “No Bikes” For Local Boy

Emsea director, Chris sweet, was honoured to catch up with nine year old Josh Horsley (pictured above), the recipient of a specially designed Trike funded by Emsea and Tewkesbury Rotary Club.

Specially designed Trike was out of reach

Due to soon have an operation to help his  Spina Bifida and Hip Dysplasia , Josh and his parents were advised by his Occupational Therapist that a specially designed trike by Tomcat would dramatically aid his rehabilitation and strengthen his muscle tone.

However, the trike costing £2400 was out of reach for the family and it seemed Josh’s dream of having his own wheels was unlikely to come to fruition.

Emsea stepped in to fund new wheels

But the local business came to the rescue and Josh was proud to meet and greet admirers of his Trike at the Tewkesbury Classic Vehicle Show on Sunday 20th August.

Lots of smiles, lots of benefits

Hayley Horsley, Josh’s mum, told us that there has been significant improvement in is muscle tone already, after just ten days of use.

“It is wonderful to see how happy he is,”  observed Chris Sweet.

He continued: “Just watching him speed around here with that huge smile, I am so proud that we were able to be a part of making this happen.”

It is certainly clear to see the impact on all the family. Mum, Dad and Sister are now able to interact with Josh in a completely new and wonderfully beneficial way.

We wish Josh and all his family many hours of fun!
